According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare

In 2017–18, an estimated 2 in 3 (67%) Australians aged 18 and over were overweight or obese (36% were overweight but not obese, and 31% were obese). That’s around 12.5 million adults. With men boasting higher rates of overweight and obesity than women (75% of men and 60% of women), and higher rates of obesity (33% of men and 30% of women).

Also, consider that as a species we are living longer. The World Health Organisation suggests that between 2015 and 2050, the proportion of the world’s population over 60 years will nearly double from 12% to 22%, living longer, hey, I say bring it on!

But wait! The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare provides statistics about chronic conditions and reports on 8 common conditions: arthritis, asthma, back pain, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes and mental health conditions.

These 8 common conditions have a significant impact on Australians, as:

  • 1 in 2 Australians (50%) has at least 1 of these conditions
  • 3 in 5 Australians (60%) aged over 65 years have more than 1

I don’t know about you, but these statistics blow me away and I for one would much prefer to age healthier than spend my last 20+ years suffering from poor health.

Thankfully, there is also a huge amount of evidence regarding the influence of diet and exercise in reducing age-related disease. Therefore, it is important to look at ageing from a life course perspective.

When considering the best weight loss program for men, consider the hCG diet as it is a low-fat, low-calorie diet that has been a highly effective weight loss tool for both men and women for many years.

The greatest benefit of the hCG weight loss diet for men is that you will see rapid weight loss and the removal of stubborn fat that you may not have been able to shift for years.
