Veal with Basil and Tomatoes

  • 100 gm Veal steak
  • 2 Small tomatoes cut into 8 pieces
  • 4 Basil leaves shredded
  • 3-4 Peppercorns
  • 3-4 Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Each of chilli flakes, garlic granules, onion granules, pink salt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Coriander to serve


  • Place tomatoes, lemon juice and basil in a container and shake, leave to marinade in the fridge during the day.
  • Beat the steak with a tenderiser (or rolling pin) until flat.
  • Grind all seasonings together and rub all over the steak.
  • Rest in the refrigerator during the day.
  • Plate the tomatoes and dress with coriander.
  • Dry fry the veal in a griddle pan for 2-3 minutes each side (or to taste).
  • Place on top of tomatoes to serve
