The hCG Diet Australia – Spicy Stewed Beef
Suitable for the hCG diet Phase 2
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of lean minced beef (all fat removed)
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 cups of water
  • Season to taste with spices such as Chilli Powder, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Himalayan Salt.

Method:

First of all, make sure all excess fat has been removed, then place the beef on grill tray for a minute or two to sweat out any remaining fat.

Then crumble or cut the beef into small pieces.

Transfer the beef, tomato, water and seasoning in to a crock pot, slow cooker or sauce pan. 

For the saucepan, bring the mixture to the boil and then turn down heat and simmer for at least 1 hour.  For the crock pot or slow cooker, cook on high for 30 minutes, then turn to low for an hour.  Can be stewed in a crock pot all day long if desired.

When ready, serve on to a plate, garnish with coriander or parsley and service with a vegetable of your choice from the approved list of hCG phase 2 vegetables.  This dish is great with cauliflower rice!

Notes:
The stew includes 1 meat protein serving and 1/2 vegetable serving.
If you have a physically active job and are following the 800 calorie diet plan, then increase the very lean minced beef portion to 150 grams.

Tip:
Because this hCG diet recipe is ideal for preparing in advance and freezing, why not make a batch for later. Just multiply the quantity of the ingredients and put into freezer containers. Batch cooking is great for meal planning and ensures you always have a hCG phase 2 friendly meal ready and at your fingertips.
